Visitor Services
Walk-in visitors will be guided through the museum by the NCHM Director or a designated docent. With advance notice, docents may be secured to accommodate groups.

Accessibility
A complete tour of the Neill-Cochran House Museum includes the front porch, front hall, and four rooms downstairs (three parlors and the dining room); a winding staircase, upstairs hall, and four rooms upstairs (three bedrooms and the library); the back hall; and a detached, two-story structure known as the Rock House Dependency, containing artifacts, furnishings, and 19th-century kitchen tools. (See Virtual Tour.)

Thanks to a generous grant from the Hillcrest Foundation, ground-floor rooms of the Neill-Cochran House Museum are accessible to all; however, the second floors are currently not wheelchair-accessible.

Group Visits
Group visits can be scheduled in advance and may be included in any facility rental negotiations.

Calendar of Events
With the development of the Friends of the Neill-Cochran House Museum membership program, public events became part of the Education Program. Since 2006, the Modern Times speaker series has offered unique "conversations" and performances that shine a light into the shadows of 19th-century Texas. For listings of this and other events, check local listings, the online calendar, or the NCHM office.

Gift Shop
Guests at the Neill-Cochran House Museum might wish to purchase a souvenir for themselves or friends. Mugs, coloring books, note cards, note-paper blocks, and books are among the selections. Reprints of July 2007 issues of The Magazine Antiques are available also.

The Neill-Cochran House Museum is proud to offer Sterling's Gift, a computer game based on Libbie Custer's books and diaries, in the gift shop. For more information, go to www.sterlingsgift.com.
